The experience of my first interview by Katya from Mi Story

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone

A few weeks ago, I was challenged by a beautiful woman, Katya, who asked if I would agree to be interviewed as a woman entrepreneur in Auckland. She told me she found me inspirational.

My first reaction? Doubt. Am I really inspirational? Do I even have something meaningful to share yet? After all, I am still very much at the beginning of my journey as a sophrologist, simply trying to create something with my life.

But very quickly, another thought followed: This woman is offering me the push I need to take myself a little more seriously. Let’s do it!

To be honest, I loved her idea. Her interest in me made me feel appreciated. At the same time, my old companion, self-doubt, mixed with a touch of impostor syndrome, invited STRESS to come knocking: “Hey girl, here’s a challenge! Let’s prepare as much as possible.”

The result of this adventure was wonderful. I absolutely loved the photoshoot by Yulia Photography NZ, organized by Katya. Collaborating with these two amazing Russian women was fun, creative, and an experience I’ll always remember. The pictures and videos turned out beautifully. I loved them immediately.

Then came the moment of truth: watching and listening to the interview in English. That love wasn’t there. Instead, I was faced (once again) with how much work I still have to do on my self-esteem. I felt vulnerable. But to honor Katya’s effort, I decided to share the video anyway. And I’m so glad I did.

Putting myself out there: imperfect, still learning, and bound to make mistakes along the way, feels scary, but also liberating. I’m embracing the fact that I am at the beginning of my journey, and that’s perfectly okay.

So thank you, Katya, for believing in me and dedicating your precious time. I am deeply grateful to have you in my life and proud that you are part of my story, as I take my first steps as one of the very first sophrologists in New Zealand.
