Code of Ethics for Sophrologists 

This code serves as the common foundation for sophrologists affiliated with the French Chambre Syndicale de la Sophrologie. It defines their commitments to the public, clients, and the profession, guaranteeing the professional ethics of sophrologists.

Article 1
Sophrologists commit to affirming equality among individuals and to respecting their originality and dignity.

Article 2
Sophrologists commit to prohibiting any religious or ideological propaganda or proselytism within their practices or places of intervention. They commit to combating any sectarian deviations they may witness.

Article 3
Sophrologists commit to respecting and protecting the physical and psychological integrity of individuals under their responsibility.

Article 4
Sophrologists commit to respecting the confidentiality of information collected during individual or group sessions

Article 5
Sophrologists commit to respecting and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.

Article 6
Sophrologists commit to regularly updating their knowledge and skills to meet public expectations and the evolving field of sophrology.

Article 7
Sophrologists commit to providing clear and understandable offerings to the public. These offerings must define the modalities of support, the objectives pursued, and the limits of sophrology.
Sophrologists commit to not disseminating information that could mislead the public or media or harm the image of the profession.

Article 9
Sophrologists commit to exercising their right of correction with the media to contribute to the seriousness of information communicated to the public about sophrology.

Article 10
Sophrologists commit to respecting the concepts and general principles of sophrology. They also commit to not distorting or conflating sophrology with other techniques without informing their clients.

Article 11
Sophrologists commit to respecting the limits of their competencies and to directing their clients to another professional when they require treatment or therapeutic assistance beyond their competencies.

Article 12
Sophrologists commit to not substituting healthcare professionals, not providing diagnoses or medical prescriptions, and not interfering with ongoing medical treatments.

Article 13
Sophrologists commit to maintaining their professional ethics when intervening under the authority of a company or organization.

Article 14
Sophrologists commit, whenever possible, to propose a colleague to their clients when they are unable to provide their services.

Article 15
Sophrologists commit to maintaining fraternal relationships of respect and courtesy, honesty, and good faith with other sophrologists.

Article 16
Any sophrologist who does not adhere to this code may be excluded from the Chambre Syndicale de la Sophrologie.
